There are two schools in the village:
Hartlebury Church of England Primary School which takes pupils from pre-school age until 11 years old.
Cambian New Elizabethan School, a private institution, takes pupils from 4 years to 16+. This small school is situated in the buildings which once housed the historic Queen Elizabeth I Grammar School (closed 1977).
There is evidence that there was a school here in the Domesday Survey and a charter was granted by Queen Elizabeth I in 1557. There is a thriving Hartlebury Old Elizabethans Association which has an extensive archive and which meets on an annual basis, holding a dinner in the school hall.
